If you produce movies, or own the internet rights to movies, you are considered a Studio. (Note: the terms content producer and studio are often used interchangeably. The terms content and movies are also used interchangeably).


Options for Studios:

  • White-Label Theatre. PPVNetworks can build a custom-branded theatre website for the studio to promote. For example, if the studio has a website, buttman.com, PPVNetworks can build a theatre site, buttmantv.com. The studio in turn drives traffic from banners, menu items and "watch now" buttons next to movies in their catalog. Studios receive up to 75% of all sales derived from the membership and pay-per-view components of their theatre site. More about Theatres.
  • Add your Content to our Network of Sites. Studios can choose to generate revenues by licensing their movies for viewing on the PPVNetworks network of sites, including PPVNetworks-owned sites and Affiliate Theatres. Studios receive 25% revenue share when these movies are viewed.

How to Get Started

For White-Label Theatre:
  • Complete Studio Questionnaire and email to info@ppvnetworks.com
  • Sign and fax Studio Licensing Agreement to 212-202-9640
  • If you wish your movies to also be available for promotion on our network of sites, and/or, if you wish to offer movies other than your own on your theatre, Sign the Affiliate Program Promotion Addendum and fax to 212-202-9640. Feel free to cross out a section if it doesn't apply.
  • If you wish to receive up to 75% of revenues, as opposed to 50%, for exclusively driving traffic to your White-Label Theatre and no competitive theatres, Sign the Exclusivity Addendum and fax to 212-202-9640.

For White-Label Theatre:

Revenue-share theatres are a joint effort. PPVNetworks is investing in a venture with your company, and in return, we require that you meet some levels of cooperative capability, and we hope that you are enthusiastic and motivated for the venture to be successful.

You must provide the following for approval:
  • 6 months of web server logs from domains showing UNIQUE visitors per day, per week, per month
  • mockup of pages where banner ads, menu options, "watch now" buttons, or links to theatre will be placed on above domains
  • completed banner ads and rotation plan
  • letter of business decision to offer VOD from management
  • letter of cooperation from technical administrator/webmaster supporting above
  • guarantee of linking and traffic

Media Submission

    Submit media in the following formats, in this order of preference:

    digital files, DVD, mini-DV, DV-CAM, Beta-SP, SVHS, Betamax

    Notes:
      • We can accept PAL but processing will be slower than NTSC. NTSC is preferred.
      • We can accept digital files, such as VOB/MPEG2, or DV files. However, due to the vast array format varieties, please contact rich@ppvnetworks.com to discuss a test file first and upload/delivery method. We can deal with just about anything..
      • We can accept 16:9 format titles, however, they will be encoded 4:3 letterbox. They will play back with black bars on top and bottom. This is actually not too much of an issue, as most computer monitors are 4:3. Screenshot thumbnails will be created without the bars, however, as they look more attractive without the bars.
    Media labels must be typed or clearly printed and include both Studio name and Movie Title.
    Note: if a piece of media is to be broken into multiple Pay-Per-View segments, clearly label what the segment Titles are and how we should determine the breaks between segments (ie. timecodes, blackouts, scene sequence). Include metadata for EACH SEGMENT below! Also, if the segments are sold on tape/DVD the same as they are broken up in PPV, then no extra notes are required. If the segments are sold on tape/DVD together with other segments, this grouping needs to be clearly specified!
    Media must be properly packaged to prevent scratching or damage.

      • Studio name (as it should appear in website references for this movie)
      • Title of movie
      • Cast
      • Release date
      • Running length
      • Description

    Provide the following metadata for each movie (optional) :
      • Genre
      • Keywords (for search engine)
      • Theatre movie should appear in (if we are building multiple theatres for studio)
      • PPV Sale Price (default is $9.95)
      • VHS/NTSC Price (or blank if not available)
      • VHS/PAL Price (or blank if not available)
      • DVD Price (or blank if not available)
      • URL link for specific to title (optional, if studio wants purchases directed to specific locations on their site)

Expectations

Sites are built-out in the following manner:
    Intial site rollout:
      • Basic customization of template graphics
      • 6 full-length titles, or 10 scenes
    After one week, the performance of your VOD site will be reviewed. Based upon review, PPVNetworks will determine a release schedule of additional content, site improvements, and customization. PPVNetworks will at that time encode additional content within days! Yes, within 2-3 days we can up to 10 more titles. We have a rack of 20 encoding servers and a staff of 4 people dedicated to the task of encoding.
      After 30 days, your theatre's performance will again be assessed, and a customization and content update plan will be established.
        Subsequent reviews will take place every 180 days.
          Customization

          Revenue share theatres offer limited customization, based on performance. If you wish to customize your theatre outside of these paramters, customization can be provide as a fee-based service. For example, if you are a new studio with low performance, we can build you a site that Vivid would be proud of, but there will be a cost associated with this. Some studios opt for this because they want to build their brand image with an attractive VOD offering, prior to having the traffic to warrant such a free service.
            Studios with their own graphic designers are encouraged to design their own graphics! We will provide you with templates for all headers and menu bars on the site, offering tremendous customization ability at no cost to you!
